A Dozen Days, A Dozen Ways: A Community Challenge to End Homelessness
7.21.08 - The organizers of Homelessness Action Week (including us!) are asking communities province-wide for ideas and suggestions to end homelessness. Starting Oct. 1, twelve selections will be featured (on stophomelessness.ca and Citytv) representing a range of projects, counting down to Homelessness Action Week: Oct. 12-19.
Your ideas can be big or small. Hannah Newbury was in kindergarten when she began a penny drive - which in two years has supplied almost $1000 worth of food for those in need. Volunteer Wanda Mulholland organized a local task force on homelessness that now runs weekly outreach programs for homeless people in Burnaby.
We can all make a difference - to submit your ideas or download campaign posters, go here or here.
